The agent of Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana insists that his client is happy with the Nerazzurri for now: ‘Transfer market rumors are normal at this stage’. The Cameroonian intentional is set to play in the Champions League final next month, capping off a superb debut season with Inter in which he’s already won the SuperCoppa Italiania and could yet win two more trophies.
Speaking with TVPlay, agent Albert Botines addressed the rumours linking his client with Chelsea and other teams, insisting they are normal for this time of year, and that Onana was only focused on Inter:
“Market rumors are normal at this stage, but I prefer not to talk about them because it is very early and now the boy is only focused on the pitch. A contract renewal? With Inter we have a five-year contract, he has another four years on his contract and now he is only focused on the Serie A and Champions League final. He still has a long contract, he is quiet. He is very happy, he is playing in the strongest team in Italy.”
“The move to Inter? The first contact I had with Piero Ausilio, even before Onana’s disqualification. When the disqualification was made official, Ausilio reiterated his desire to bring him to Inter. Since then he decided to go to Inter regardless, despite so many other offers that came in.”
“The Champions League final? He is very happy and content, the beginning was a bit difficult because he struggled to find space. He worked hard to take the place of captain Samir Handanovic.”
