Olivier Giroud will remain at Milan

Start

Milan striker Olivier Giroud is set to stay at the club beyond 2023 after agreeing a verbal pact with the club. The Frenchman is into the last six months of his deal with the Rossoneri, but reports suggest there is a will on both sides to continue together in Milan.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Giroud has a ‘verbal pact’ with Milan on a new contract that will tie him to the club for at least another year. The deal would keep him with the Rossoneri for a third season, having already made 57 appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals in his 1.5 years in Milan.

Romano also suggests that the club are set to meet with midfielder Ismael Bennacer as they want to extend his contract beyond 2024. The Frenchman has become a key part of coach Stefano Pioli’s squad, helping them to the Scudetto last season.
