Hellas Verona have officially confirmed the sacking of coach Gabriele Cioffi after Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Salernitana. The coach was in a precarious position after a dismal start to the season, but last weekends loss was the final straw with the club announcing his sacking in a brief statement:
Hellas Verona FC announces that they have relieved Gabriele Cioffi from the role of coach of the first team.
The club thanks Mr Cioffi and his staff for their work.
Cioffi took over at the Bentegodi after a impressive season with Udinese in the 2021-22 campaign, but time has run out after four losses in a row.
His record stands at nine matches played, six losses, two draws and one win against Sampdoria last month.
