Venezia have officially announced the permanent signing of Gaetano Oristanio from Inter Milan. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has joined the recently promoted Serie A side on a long-term contract until June 30, 2029.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports how Oristanio, born in Vallo della Lucania, spent the previous season on loan at Cagliari, where he contributed to the team’s promotion campaign. His performances caught the attention of several clubs, but Venezia managed to secure his services on a permanent basis.

The young talent expressed his enthusiasm for joining Venezia, citing the club’s technical project and the opportunity to work under experienced coach Eusebio Di Francesco as key factors in his decision. Oristanio stated, “I chose Venezia for the technical project and because the team will be led by a coach with an important history like Mr. Di Francesco. The team is coming off a fantastic season culminating in a well-deserved promotion, and I’m very happy to be part of this group. I hope to be able to rejoice together with our fans for the achievement of what will be our goals.”

Venezia’s Sporting Director, Filippo Antonelli, shared his satisfaction with the signing, revealing that Oristanio had been a long-term target for the club. Antonelli commented, “Oristanio is a player we have been following for some time and who fits perfectly into the context we are trying to build. I am happy to be able to announce it today, on my birthday, and I thank the ownership for making this gift to me and the fans.”

This acquisition marks Venezia’s first reinforcement under new coach Eusebio Di Francesco as they prepare for their return to Serie A.
