Udinese have officially secured the services of Norwegian international goalkeeper Egil Selvik, bolstering their goalkeeping department. The 27-year-old arrives in Friuli after playing his most recent season in his home country with Haugesund.

Born in 1997 and standing at 191 cm tall, Selvik developed his footballing skills with his hometown club Sandnes, where he played until 2018. He then moved to Nest Sotra in the Norwegian second division, making 32 appearances in a single year.

The following year, Selvik transferred to Odd, featuring in 20 matches for their second team and making his debut in the Norwegian Cup with the first team. In 2020, he also made his first appearance in Norway’s top flight.

Selvik’s career took a significant turn in 2021 when he joined Haugesund. Over four years, he played 120 matches across league and cup competitions, establishing himself as a key player and earning a call-up to the Norwegian national team.

To date, Selvik has earned four caps for Norway, a team led by the prolific Erling Haaland. His international debut came in September 2023 in a friendly against Jordan. Notably, Selvik secured the starting position in the last two matches of the November international window, impressing with his performances.

At Udinese, Selvik will wear the number 1 jersey, signaling the club’s faith in his abilities. His arrival comes at a crucial time for Udinese, as they look to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the Serie A season.
