Udinese have officially finalised the acquisition of defender Oumar Solet, with the club depositing his contract and receiving the necessary transfer documents. The 24-year-old French center-back joins the Friulian side on a free transfer after mutually terminating his contract with Red Bull Salzburg.
The move, which had been in the works for some time, provides manager Kosta Runjaić with a valuable addition to his squad. Solet, born in 2000, brings versatility to Udinese’s backline, capable of playing as a central defender and, when needed, in a midfield role.
During his final season with Salzburg, Solet made 28 appearances across all competitions, contributing two goals and an assist. His experience in European competitions, including the Champions League, could prove invaluable for Udinese as they look to build on their strong start to the Serie A campaign.
Runjaić, who has impressed since taking the helm at the Dacia Arena, will now have the opportunity to integrate Solet into his tactical setup. The defender’s arrival strengthens Udinese’s defensive options and aligns with the club’s strategy of blending experienced players with promising talent.
