VfB Stuttgart have bolstered their attacking line-up by securing El Bilal Touré on a season-long loan from Europa League winners Atalanta.
The 22-year-old Malian international made 17 appearances for La Dea last season, scoring two goals in Serie A and one in the Europa League. Touré was part of the Atalanta squad that clinched the Europa League title, coming on as a late substitute in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
Touré began his European career with Stade Reims in France’s Ligue 1. He then moved to UD Almeria in Spain’s Primera Division in September 2022, before joining Atalanta Bergamo a year later. In total, Touré has played 96 matches across the top leagues of Spain, France, and Italy, netting 18 goals.
On the international stage, Touré has represented Mali 19 times, scoring seven goals.
Fabian Wohlgemuth, VfB Stuttgart’s Sporting Director, expressed his enthusiasm about the signing: “We’re facing a demanding season with matches in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League. We want to be optimally prepared in terms of personnel. With El Bilal Touré, we now have another strong option for our offensive play. His exceptional speed brings a crucial element to our attack that we didn’t have before. We’re delighted he’ll be wearing the VfB jersey and warmly welcome him to the club.”
Touré himself shared his excitement about joining VfB Stuttgart: “I’m happy to wear the VfB jersey in the coming season. VfB is a great club with fantastic fans. I’m really looking forward to playing in the Bundesliga and, of course, the Champions League. And I’m very excited to meet my new teammates.”
