Roma have officially confirmed the signing of Empoli midfielder Tommaso Baldanzi on a permanent deal. The 20-year-old was linked with a switch to the capital club in the last 48 hours, but talks intensified and the Giallorossi decided to accelerate their efforts and have now confirmed the acquisition of the young talent:
The club are pleased to be able to confirm the signing of Italian midfielder Tommaso Baldanzi on a permanent deal.
Baldanzi, 20, arrives from fellow Italian side Empoli – becoming the club’s third signing of the January window.“I would like to thank the Friedkin family for strongly believing in me and doing everything possible to bring me to Roma. I feel honoured by the interest that this club and the coach have shown in me, and I hope I will be able to repay their trust,” said Tommaso.
“Training alongside great champions will provide me with plenty of opportunities to observe and learn. I can’t wait until Monday to experience the atmosphere of my new stadium. For my part, I will do my best to help achieve the goals we have in front of us.”
Baldanzi will wear the No. 35 shirt for the Giallorossi.
Welcome to Roma, Tommaso!
