Start

Roma have officially announced the signing of Mats Hummels on a one-year contract. Hummels boasts an impressive career with over 600 appearances across all competitions. His extensive experience includes 78 caps for the German national team, during which he contributed to the team’s triumph in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, among other accolades.

Prior to joining AS Roma, Hummels had a distinguished tenure at Borussia Dortmund, where he made a significant impact, becoming the club’s second-highest appearance maker with 508 matches. He also had a stint at Bayern Munich, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top defenders in European football.

The move to AS Roma marks a new chapter for Hummels, who has opted for this opportunity after leaving Dortmund as a free agent. His decision comes amidst interest from various clubs, including those in the English Premier League, but he ultimately chose to embrace the challenge of Serie A.

In his new role, Hummels will wear the number 15 jersey and joins a growing list of German players at the club, now totaling seven.
