Roma have officially completed the signing of Juventus winger Matias Soule on a five-year contract. The move had been in the works for several weeks, with the Argentine international turning down offers from the Premier League in favour of joining the Giallorossi.
The transfer itself is expected to be structured as follows: Juventus will receive €26 million upfront, with an additional €4 million in bonuses. Of these bonuses, €2 million are considered easily achievable.
A statement on Roma’s official website confirmed the news:
“AS Roma is pleased to welcome Matias Soulé to the Giallorossi family.
Born in 2003 in Mar del Plata, the Argentine arrives from Juventus and will bolster the attacking ranks.Soulé, a left-sided attacker, scored 11 goals in 36 Serie A games last season.
Overall, he has 51 appearances in the top Italian division, including his time with Juventus.
With the Argentina national team, Matias took part in the Under-20s World Cup hosted in Argentina in 2023.
For the Giallorossi he will wear the number 18. A special shirt number that belonged to another Argentine, Gabriel Omar Batistuta, in the year of the third Scudetto. Up until 2006, it belonged to Antonio Cassano, a skilled and technically gifted player.
