Roma have officially announced the signing of Mario Hermoso who joins the club after a successful stint at Atlético Madrid. At 29 years old, Hermoso brings a wealth of experience, having made over 300 professional appearances as both a center-back and left-back.
Hermoso’s football journey began at the prestigious Real Madrid youth academy, where he honed his skills before embarking on a senior career that included spells at Real Valladolid and Espanyol. His most notable achievement came during his five seasons at Atlético Madrid, where he was part of the squad that clinched the La Liga title in the 2020/21 season. In addition to his domestic success, Hermoso has also gained valuable experience in European competitions, including the UEFA Champions League.
Upon joining Roma, Hermoso has chosen to wear the number 22 shirt, marking his place in the club’s history as the 18th Spanish player to join the men’s first team. His arrival is expected to enhance Roma’s defensive lineup, providing both stability and versatility on the field.
