Parma have officially announced the signing of Molde FK left-back Mathias Fjortoft Lovik. The young Norwegian defender is set to become Fabio Pecchia’s first reinforcement in the winter transfer window.

The deal, reportedly worth six million euros, has been finalized, and Lovik has reportedly signed a contract that will keep him with the club until June 30, 2029. This long-term commitment underscores Parma’s faith in the player’s potential and their vision for the future.

Lovik, an attacking left-back, has spent his entire career with Molde FK, the club where he was born and raised. Since 2021, he has amassed an impressive 109 appearances across all competitions, contributing seven goals and 12 assists. His experience extends beyond domestic football, with 27 appearances in European competitions, including the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.

This wealth of experience, despite his young age, makes Lovik an exciting prospect for Parma. The club has secured a player who not only brings technical skill but also valuable international experience that could prove crucial in their campaigns.

Ole Jakob Strandhagen, Molde FK’s sporting director, confirmed the advanced state of negotiations in an interview with TV2. He expressed optimism about the deal, stating, “The dialogue has been good and constructive. We hope everything goes well. They have behaved seriously, and we agree on almost everything, although there are still some details to discuss.”
