Paolo Maldini has confirmed that he has agreed a new contract in his role as club director at Milan. The club legend spent much of yesterday in talks at Milan HQ before confirming to waiting press that a renewal had been agreed:
“We left it to the last minute, but we did it and are ready to plan a future with even more victories.”
The conclusion of the talks and signing of the contract came at 22:30, with just over an hour to go until his contract expired.
“Everything is sorted. We renewed at the last minute, but we did it,” Maldini told reporters.
“We are happy to be here and ready to plan a future with even more victories. There’s time, we started a bit late, but we’ll recover lost time. I am very happy.”
Maldini’s deal with the club is expected to run until 2024, along with Frederic Massara’s.
