Premier League club Aston Villa have officially confirmed the loan signing of Italy international Nicolò Zaniolo. The move had been underway since last week, with Zaniolo having agreed personal terms with Villa and pushing to make the transfer to the Premier League. The loan deal is expected to include an option to buy at the end of it.
Villa confirmed Zaniolo’s announcement with a statement on the clubs official website:
Aston Villa is delighted to announce the loan signing of Italian international Nicolò Zaniolo.
The 24-year-old joins Villa from Turkish side Galatasaray, subject to a successful visa application.
A league champion with the Istanbul club last season, Zaniolo made his breakthrough at AS Roma in his homeland with whom he won the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2022.
In his first season in the Eternal City, the midfielder’s impressive displays saw him named Serie A Young Player of the Year for 2018/19.
