OFFICIAL: Monza sign Danilo D’Ambrosio

Monza have officially confirmed the signing of free-agent Danilo D’Ambrosio after his contract with Inter ended last month. The veteran defender has agreed a one-year contract with the Biancorossi with the option to extend to June 2025 if certain conditions are met.

The club officially confirmed the news via their social media accounts and website, releasing a statement to announce the transfer:

Danilo D’Ambrosio is a new player for Monza.

The defender has signed a contract with the Biancorossi until June 30, 2024, with an option to renew if certain conditions are met.

Born in Naples on September 9, 1988, he grew up in Salernitana before joining Fiorentina’s youth sector at the age of 17.

His professional debut came with Potenza in January 2008 in Serie C. After his experience at Juve Stabia, in January 2010 he was bought by Torino, with whom he immediately debuted in Serie B.

In granata he won in May 2012 the promotion to Serie A, where he played 42 matches, until his transfer to Inter in January 2014.

His Nerazzurri experience lasted nine and a half seasons, in which he won a Championship, two Italian Cups and two Italian Super Cups.

He also took the field in the Champions League final against Manchester City last June 10.

A defender of great ductility and experience, he boasts 268 Serie A appearances with 21 goals, 21 Champions League appearances and 22 in the Europa League.

He also wore the national team jersey for six matches.
