Keita Balde has officially returned to Serie A, signing a contract with Monza until the end of the season. The former Inter and Lazio striker completed his medical examinations with the club on February 6, paving the way for his training sessions with the team.
After a brief stint in Turkey with Sivasspor, where he made 11 appearances and scored one goal against Gaziantep, the 29-year-old Senegalese forward found himself as a free agent. Monza, currently battling relegation, has decided to bolster their attacking options by bringing in the experienced Serie A campaigner.
This signing comes as a welcome reinforcement for newly reinstated coach Alessandro Nesta, who recently replaced Salvatore Bocchetti at the helm. The club’s decision to acquire Balde reflects their determination to secure their top-flight status for another season.
Monza officially announced the signing with a statement on their website: “Keita Balde is a new Monza player. The striker has signed a contract with the Biancorossi Club until June 30, 2025. Welcome Keita Balde!”
