Nico Gonzalez has officially joined Juventus from Fiorentina, marking a significant addition to the Bianconeri’s squad as they prepare for the new season. The Argentine winger arrived in Turin to undergo medical examinations, completing the final steps of his transfer.

The deal is structured as a loan with a mandatory purchase clause, valued at approximately €38 million. This arrangement allows Juventus to bolster their attacking options while managing their financial commitments effectively.

Gonzalez’s move comes after a successful stint at Fiorentina, where he made a notable impact since joining the club in 2021. Over his tenure, he scored 38 goals in 125 appearances, showcasing his talent and ability to perform in high-pressure situations. His performances have drawn attention from several clubs, but Juventus emerged as the frontrunner in securing his services.

The transfer is seen as a strategic move by Juventus to enhance their attacking depth, especially with the demands of competing in multiple competitions this season. Gonzalez is expected to bring pace, creativity, and a goal-scoring threat to the Juventus frontline, complementing the existing talents in the squad.

A statement from the club confirmed the news: 

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that an agreement has been reached with ACF Fiorentina for the acquisition, on a temporary basis until 30 June 2025, of the registration rights of the player Nicolas Ivan Gonzalez for a consideration of € 8 million, plus additional charges of € 0.4 million. The agreement also includes the obligation for Juventus to definitively acquire the rights to the sports performance of the player upon the occurrence of certain conditions during the 2024/2025 football season. The consideration agreed for the eventual definitive acquisition is € 25 million, payable in three financial years, plus auxiliary expenses for € 3.1 million. during the duration of the contract with the player, for an amount not exceeding € 5 million, to be paid in three financial years. This sum may be increased, over the duration of the contract with the player, for a sum not exceeding € 5 million, on achieving given sports objectives. Given the high probability that the above conditions will be met, for accounting purposes, this operation qualifies as an outright acquisition as of as a definitive acquisition as of today for a total amount of € 33 million. We
It should also be noted that the final assessment on the accounting recognition of the transaction will be made for the purpose of preparing the preparation of the Half-Yearly Report as at 31 December 2024, the approval of which is scheduled for February.”
