Juventus have officially announced their first signing of the 2024/25 winter transfer window, securing Portuguese right-back Alberto Costa from Vitoria Guimaraes. The deal, which could potentially exceed €15 million with bonuses, marks a significant move for the Italian giants.
Costa, born in 2003, arrived in Turin yesterday and completed his medical examinations at Continassa today, paving the way for the official signing. Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has demonstrated the club’s commitment to strengthening the squad under manager Thiago Motta.
The transfer details reveal a substantial investment in the young talent. Juventus will pay Vitoria Guimaraes €12.5 million, spread over four financial years, plus €1.3 million in additional fees. The agreement also includes potential bonuses worth up to €2.5 million, bringing the total possible value of the deal to €16.3 million.
In their official statement, Juventus Football Club S.p.A. confirmed the permanent acquisition of Alberto Oliveira Baio, known as Alberto Costa. The club outlined the financial structure of the deal and announced that Costa has signed a contract until June 30, 2029.
