Venezia have officially announced the signing of promising talent Joël Schingtienne. The 22-year-old centre-back previously played for Belgian side OH Leuven, coming through their youth academy before making his first team debut in 2022. A statement on the clubs official website confirmed the transfer:
“Venezia FC announces the acquisition of the sports performance of the player Joël Schingtienne from Oud-Heverlee Leuven.
The Belgian defender, has signed a contract until the end of 2028/29 season
Growing up in the RSC Anderlecht youth academy, Schingtienne moved to Oud-Heverlee Leuven in 2018 and signed his first professional contract in May 2022.
In the 2022/23 season, Joel totaled 22 appearances and one goal with Leuven’s U23 team in the First National league, and made his Jupiler Pro League debut on April 15, 2023 in the match against KV Oostende.
Confirmed in Leuven’s first team, in 2023/24 he totalizes between the league, Croky Cup and playoffs, 38 appearances scoring one goal and one assist.
