Inter have announced the loan signing of veteran striker Marko Arnautovic from Bologna. The Nerazzurri have been looking for an experienced option in attack to replace Edin Dzeko who left the club earlier this summer. The club have now confirmed the arrival of the Austrian striker who joins the Nerazzurri from Bologna on loan with an obligation to buy, upon certain conditions being agreed.
Speaking in his first interview since his return to Inter, the 34-year-old said:
“I’m really happy. It’s a great honour for me to play for Inter again. When I was here 13 years, it was more as a fan than a player but now I’m here to help the team win.”
How much have you grown since leaving Inter?
“A lot because I was a hot-headed kid who didn’t focus on football. I’m different now; I have a family and I’m a lot calmer. I’ve grown in age and character. I hope that it goes really well.”You’re an experienced and talented player; what do you think are your best attributes?
“Yes, I’m a technical player but I’m strong too. I came here to score goals; I know how to do that.”You had two good seasons with Bologna; what are your expectations for this new chapter?
“I came here to win; at Inter you need to win. I want a trophy. I’m so happy to be back.”You’ve already played competitive football this season; Serie A is back now though, so how hungry are you to get going?
“I’ve already asked to start training right away and meet my teammates. The league begins on Saturday and we’ll try to get off to a winning start.”
