Start

Filip Stankovic, the young Serbian goalkeeper, has officially joined Venezia on loan from Inter Milan. The transfer comes after a series of negotiations, during which Stankovic ultimately gave his approval for the move, signaling his eagerness to embark on this new chapter in his career.

Stankovic’s transition to Venezia follows the collapse of a previous transfer to Sampdoria, making the newly-promoted Serie A club a fitting destination for the talented shot-stopper.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper has been highly regarded within Inter Milan’s ranks, and this loan spell is seen as an opportunity for him to gain valuable first-team experience. Venezia aim to leverage Stankovic’s skills to enhance their defensive lineup as they navigate the competitive landscape of Serie A.

A statement on Venezia’s official website confirmed the move:

“Venezia FC announce the acquisition on loan, until the end of the 2024/25 season of the goalkeeper Filip Stankovic from Internazionale FC, with an option to buy and an obligation upon the occurrence of certain conditions

Growing up in Inter’s youth academy, Stankovic before joining Sampdoria, he wore the Volendam jersey, totaling 64 appearances in two seasons, 12 of which were without conceding a goal.

In the last Serie B season, Stankovic played 38 games in the Blucerchiata jersey while keeping the net unbeaten in eight matches.

With the Serbian youth national team jersey, Stankovic made 11 appearances.

Filip Stankovic:
“Choosing Venice was easy. When I came as an opponent last year there was a great atmosphere in a stadium like the Penzo, and when I heard about Venezia’s interest it was easy to take my decision. I have seen the new sporting center, it is modern and functional, and the first impressions are really positive. I am looking forward to meet the fans, i am sure that they will be able to push us toward achieving our goals.”
