Como have announced the signing of experienced defender Mërgim Vojvoda on a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2028. The Kosovo international joins the BiancoBlu from Torino, where he made a significant impact with over 100 appearances.
Vojvoda’s journey to Como began in Liège, Belgium, where he developed his skills in the youth ranks of Standard Liège. His senior career took off in the Belgian Pro League with Royal Excel Mouscron, before a successful return to Standard Liège established him as a versatile and reliable full-back.
Since making his international debut in 2016, Vojvoda has become a cornerstone of the Kosovo national team, accumulating more than 60 caps and demonstrating his leadership on the international stage.
Head coach Cesc Fàbregas expressed his enthusiasm for the new signing, saying “Mërgim brings experience, tenacity, and defensive solidity to our squad. His ability to operate in multiple defensive roles and his Serie A experience will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our backline.”
