Bologna have officially confirmed the signing of Real Betis left-back Juan Miranda on a permanent transfer. The 24-year-old was in Italy last week to complete his medicals with the club, and the Rossoblu have now announced his transfer:

“Bologna FC 1909 has officially announced the permanent signing of defender Juan Miranda.

Born in Olivares, Spain, Juan Miranda is a defender born in 2000. He began his youth career at Real Betis before moving to Barcelona’s academy at age 14. Miranda made his first-team debut for Barcelona in 2018, making 4 appearances and winning the Spanish league title and Supercup that season.

In the 2019-2020 season, Miranda was loaned to Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga. He then returned on loan to Real Betis for the 2020-2021 campaign before joining them permanently in 2021. With Betis, he won the Copa del Rey in 2021-2022, scoring the decisive penalty in the 5-4 shootout victory over Valencia.

At the international level, Miranda has represented Spain across various youth categories. He won the European U-17 Championship and a silver medal at the U-17 World Cup in 2017. With the U-19 team, he claimed the 2019 European Championship and a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. He has also featured for Spain’s U-21 side and earned one cap for the senior national team, scoring a goal against Lithuania.

Miranda joins Bologna on a permanent transfer starting July 2024. The 24-year-old left-back has already arrived in Italy to complete his medical examinations and finalize a long-term contract with the club.”
