OFFICIAL: Atalanta sign Marco Brescianini

Start

Atalanta have officially announced the acquisition of Italian midfielder Marco Brescianini from Frosinone on a loan deal that includes an option to buy, which will become mandatory if certain conditions are met.

According to reports, Atalanta will pay €2 million to secure Brescianini on loan for the season, with an additional €10 million required to make the transfer permanent.

The 24-year-old midfielder was initially on the verge of joining Napoli, having even completed a medical examination with the club. However, that deal fell through at the last moment, allowing Atalanta to seize the opportunity and strengthen their midfield under coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Milan stands to benefit from this transfer if it becomes permanent, as they negotiated a significant sell-on clause with Frosinone when Brescianini moved there last summer.

In their official statement, Atalanta expressed their excitement about the signing: “Atalanta BC is pleased to announce the signing of Marco Brescianini from Frosinone Calcio on loan with a buy-out option that becomes an obligation under certain conditions.”

Brescianini had a productive season last year, making 36 appearances, scoring four goals, and providing two key passes. Born on January 20, 2000, he began his career at AC Milan, progressing through their youth system and making his first-team debut in August 2020 during a Serie A match.

Following loan spells at Virtus Entella, Monza, and Cosenza between 2020 and 2023, where he accumulated 70 Serie B appearances and four goals, Brescianini returned to the top flight after transferring to Frosinone last summer.
