Atalanta have officially announced the signing of Daniel Maldini from AC Monza on a permanent transfer. The 23-year-old attacker joins the Bergamo-based club after a series of loan spells and a brief stint with Monza.
Born in Milan on October 11, 2001, Maldini is a product of AC Milan’s youth academy. He made his Serie A debut for the Rossoneri at the age of 18 on February 2, 2020, against Hellas Verona at San Siro. In the following season, he was promoted to Milan’s first team, making appearances in both Serie A and the UEFA Europa League.
Maldini’s time at Milan included being part of the Scudetto-winning squad in the 2021-22 season. He then gained valuable experience through loan spells at Spezia and Empoli before joining Monza in January 2024.
At Monza, Maldini showcased his potential, scoring 7 goals and providing 2 assists across 38 Serie A appearances over one and a half seasons. His performances caught the eye of the national team selectors, leading to his debut for the Italian senior team on October 14, 2024, in a UEFA Nations League match against Israel.
Atalanta’s management, including the Percassi and Pagliuca families, have warmly welcomed Maldini to the club. They expressed their hopes for his success and contribution to the team’s ambitions in the upcoming seasons.
