Napoli have officially confirmed the appointment of Antonio Conte as their new head coach. The former Inter and Juventus boss has reportedly penned a two-year contract with the Partenopei, and club president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed the appointment with a statement:
“I am very proud that the new coach of Napoli is Antonio Conte. Antonio is a top coach, a leader, with whom I am sure that the necessary refoundation can begin after the conclusion of the cycle that led us to win the scudetto last year after many seasons at the top of Italian football. Today an important new chapter in the history of Napoli opens”
Antonio Conte also spoke of his excitement at returning to coaching, saying:
“Napoli is a place of global importance. I am happy and excited at the idea of sitting on the blue bench. I can certainly promise one thing: I will do my utmost for the growth of the team and the club. My commitment, together with that of my staff, will be total”
Long-time assistant coach Cristian Stellini will join Conte in Naples while Costantino Coratti is the new athletic trainer, Elvis Abbruscato is part of the coaching staff, Gabriele Oriali is the coordinator and Conte’s brother Gianluca is the match analyst.
