Napoli have confirmed that they’ve reached an agreement for the contract extension of goalkeeper Alex Meret. There has been reports in the summer that the Partenopei would make a move for PSG keeper Kaylor Navas, which led to tensions with Meret who was into the final year of his Napoli deal.
The club have now released an official statement, confirming that Meret has extended his deal until 2024 with the option of extending it until 2025 if both parties agree.
Meret has been in fine form so far this season, playing a key role in the clubs excellent start to the season which has seen them concede just two goals in three Champions League games against the likes of Liverpool, Rangers and Ajax.
