Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel suggested that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ‘wants to come to Chelsea’. Osimhen is considered one of the most in-demand strikers in European football and is widely tipped to leave Naples in the summer, despite having penned a new contract with Napoli in December, which includes a €120m release clause .
Speaking at the Web Summit Qatar, Obi Mikel shared his thoughts on the reports that suggest Osimhen could join Chelsea in the summer:
“I think there is genuine interest on both sides. I am convinced that Victor wants to come to Chelsea, he obviously wants to follow in my footsteps and in the footsteps of the Nigerian players who played for Chelsea, like Victor Moses, Celestine Babayaro.”
“And there is also London, a fantastic city: there is no comparison with Liverpool or places like that”.
“He also has so many clubs interested in him, like PSG, Manchester United, but I’m pushing, sending him messages, trying to make sure there is only one club in his mind: the Blues!”
