Rising star Nico Paz has addressed speculation about his future, emphasizing his current commitment to Como while acknowledging his aspirations to potentially return to Real Madrid one day.
In a recent interview with Sky Sport, the 20-year-old Argentine midfielder stated, “For now, I’m not planning my future yet, I’m focused on Como. Then who knows, my dream would be to return to play for Real Madrid one day.”
Paz joined Como from Real Madrid last summer for €6 million on a permanent deal, signing a contract until June 2028. However, the Spanish giants retained a buy-back option and 50% of any future sale. Real Madrid can repurchase Paz for €9 million in summer 2025, €10 million in 2026, or €11 million in 2027.
Como attempted to negotiate with Real Madrid in January to remove these clauses but were unsuccessful. The Italian club’s coach, Cesc Fabregas, has been adamant about retaining Paz, stating, “If Real Madrid doesn’t bring him back, we won’t sell him even for €50 million.”
Paz has been impressive for Como this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists in 21 Serie A appearances, totaling 1561 minutes played. He is set to feature in Como’s upcoming league match against Juventus on Friday evening.
