A new Simone Inzaghi contract is on the table if Inter can progress to the UEFA Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.
The Nerazzuri boss has been guaranteed a new deal with the option to extend by a further year. As is stands, the Italian’s current contract expires in the summer of 2026.
Inzaghi’s proposed new terms would see him sign on until 2027 with the possibility of extending his stay for a further 12 months.
Not only that, Inzaghi can expect a slight salary adjustment. The 49-year-old reportedly earns €6.5million ($7.3million) per season. That would rise to €7m ($7.9m) if Inter gets the better of Bayern at the San Siro.
That would maintain his position as the highest paid coach in Serie A. With the Nerazzuri flying high both domestically and in Europe, it’s fully deserved.
Inter hold a three-point lead over Napoli at the top of the table going into the remaining six games of the 2024/25 season. In the UCL, Inter have dazzled on their way to the quarter-final.
Simone Inzaghi's Inter Milan side have only conceded three goals this ENTIRE UCL campaign and we're already heading into the second leg of the quarters 🤯
They've faced the likes of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Man City among others.

Simone Inzaghi Contract
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter did not want to get to the stage where Simone Inzaghi entered the last 12 months of his current deal.
Starting the 2025/26 campaign in that situation would likely cause uncertainty around Inzaghi’s long-term future with the club.
The two parties have verbally agreed to the new Inzaghi contract and it has already been drawn up. All that remains is for the Nerazzuri head coach to see off Bayern.
Inzaghi has been at the helm since 2021 and has previously penned one-year extensions. That has worked well for both club and the head coach but the Inter hierarchy wants to tie Inzaghi down until 2028.
If that does happen, fans and the playing staff will be assured of Inzaghi’s commitment to the cause. Since switching from Lazio, Inzaghi has won the Scudetto as well as two Coppa Italia titles.
In 2023, Inzaghi also led Inter to the UCL final. Something of which he’ll be hoping to go one better this season. As it stands, Inzaghi is Serie A’s second-longest serving head coach. Bettered only by Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini.
