The Roma squad have made the trip to visit teammate Evan Ndicka in hospital after he was stretchered off during their match against Udinese. The Giallorossi defender collapsed to the pitch at the Stadio Friuli in 72nd minute of the match, seemingly clutching his chest. The player was immediately rushed off the field on a stretcher and both teams agreed to abandon the match.
Roma swiftly released a statement confirming Ndicka’s consciousness and his transfer to the hospital, with a police escort ensuring his swift and safe journey for medical attention.
According to Sky Sport Italia, CEO Lina Soulokou, coach Daniele De Rossi, and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini visited Ndicka in the hospital to offer their support and encouragement. Pellegrini subsequently updated the rest of the squad on Ndicka’s condition.
In a later update, Roma confirmed that the entire squad had visited Ndicka in the hospital, sharing that he was in better spirits and undergoing further tests and observation.
“Evan feels better and is in good spirits. He will remain in hospital for further tests and observation,” read the statement issued by Roma on Sunday evening, concluding with a rallying cry: “Forza Evan!”
