Ravanelli: “Not all of Juve’s problems will be solved with a new coach”

Start

Juventus legend Fabrizio Ravanelli isn’t convinced that a change of coach will solve all of the Bianconeri’s problems. Juve have finally returned to winning ways after a two month period that saw them win just one match. Speaking with Tuttosport, Ravanelli addressed the speculation surrounding Max Allegri’s future in Turin, suggesting that it will take more than the appointment of a new coach to fix some of their issues:

“I believe that buoyed by enthusiasm from their Coppa Italia victory, Juventus performed admirably in the first half against Fiorentina, showing determination, character, desire, and dynamism. They managed to break the deadlock and even had opportunities to double their lead, albeit falling short by mere inches. However, in the final 20 minutes of the second half, their intensity waned, and I’m unsure of the cause, whether it was a tactical decision or simply fatigue, but they were vulnerable.”

Acknowledging the impact of substitutions on Juventus’ performance, Ravanelli noted, “Certainly, the changes didn’t help Juventus maintain their high intensity, as they struggled, but beyond that, it was crucial to secure a victory to emerge from a challenging situation, which they accomplished. They can build on this win, as demonstrated in the first half of the season, where they faced adversity but ultimately triumphed.”

Turning his attention to transfer rumors surrounding Bremer, Ravanelli expressed skepticism about finding a suitable replacement if Juventus opts to sell him, stating, “If Juventus decides to cash in, I’m uncertain how many players could match Bremer’s level.”

Addressing the speculation surrounding former Juventus manager Antonio Conte’s potential return, Ravanelli commented, “Do the fans want Conte? He excelled in rebuilding Juventus, Inter Milan, and even in England. They know he’s been a symbol of Juventus and might lean towards him due to confidence in his work ethic and expertise. However, merely appointing a new coach won’t solve all problems. It requires a comprehensive plan and time because changing the manager alone won’t guarantee immediate success. It takes time and the right players to rebuild a team.”
