Lucio has revealed how Inter Milan can get the better of Barcelona at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic on Wednesday.
The Nerazzurri legend famously won the treble in 2010 under the guidance of Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese head coach knocked out Barca in the semi-final on their way to beating Bayern Munich.
Mourinho’s antics that night caused outrage amongst the Blaugrana fans as the maverick manager ran across the pitch celebrating wildly at full time.
Lucio also believes that current boss Simone Inzaghi deserves a similar outcome after the job he has done at the San Siro this season.

Lucio Opens Up On Barcelona Vs Inter
Speaking to Gazzetta, Lucio said: “I remember Mourinho’s run at the end of the game; the credit for that achievement will always belong to him.”
“I wish Inzaghi a night like that; he deserves it for the work he’s done.”
The former Brazil international went on to praise Barcelona’s attacking prowess. However, he stated that Inter’s defensive attributes will concern the LaLiga giants.
“Every game is different, but this Inter side has a tactical knowledge that allows them to defend in an organised way.
“They have physically strong centre-backs, a focused team spirit and the hunger to go all the way. They also have an essential technique to play out from the back and launch counter-attacks, especially Bastoni.”
On Tuesday, Barca wonderkid Lamine Yamal told reporters which two Inter players he ‘really likes’ in the pre-match press conference. However, the Golden Boy winner played down comparisons to Lionel Messi. Something of which Lucio agreed upon.
“Lamine is extraordinary. It’s not normal to be this good and decisive at just 17, but Messi’s career is unique and is still going after so many years,” argued Lucio.
“You can’t compare them yet. It’s far too early. Yamal needs many more seasons and goals.”
On the clash itself, Lucio emphasised that Inter must win their individual duels to have any chance of coming away with a positive result.
“Against Barcelona, you always need to win individual duels.
“I won’t make predictions, but Inter are as glorious as Barcelona. They start on par, and Inter have everything to succeed. The Nerazzurri fans believe in them, and it’s beautiful when the team and the supporters are a unit. We know that feeling well.”
