Arsenal To Test Inter’s Resolve With Record-Breaking Bid For Lautaro Martinez

Start

The latest Lautaro Martinez transfer news has revealed that Arsenal are preparing a record-breaking offer for the Inter superstar.

Martinez has been one of the standout performers in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League this season with the Nerazzurri still on course to claim a historic treble.

The Argentine World Cup winner starred as Simeone Inzaghi’s side claimed a brilliant 2-1 away win at Bayern Munich in the UCL quarter-final first leg.

Martinez opened the scoring at the Allianz Arena with a sublime effort on 38 minutes. He netted with the outside of his boot after Marcus Thuram teed up the forward with an intuitive flick.

Although Bayern rallied and equalised late on through Thomas Muller, Azzurri international Davide Frattesi hit the winner with two minutes left to play.

So far in 2024/25, Martinez has scored 19 goals and provided six assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. During his time at the San Siro, Martinez has lifted two Scudetto’s and won the Coppa Italia three times.

Is Lautaro Martinez Transferring To Arsenal?

As per reports from Fichajes, Arsenal are lining up a bid in the region of €150million ($166million) to tempt Inter into selling Lautaro Martinez.

The Premier League giants are very much on the lookout for a world class goalscorer and see Martinez as the ideal candidate.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been engulfed with injuries this season. In particular up front with the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz suffering major setbacks.

Martinez is a huge fans favourite at the San Siro and supporters would be devastated to see their captain leave. Especially to a European rival.

However, an astronomical offer will be hard to ignore from the Nerazzurri’s perspective. Especially as they could use the funds to replenish the entire playing squad.

For now, it remains to be seen what will happen but Martinez could be keen on a new challenge elsewhere. If Inter does entertain bids, it won’t just be the Gunners interested.

Real Madrid will also be keeping a close eye on Martinez’s situation. Even more so if Vini Jr is sold this summer. The Brazilian star has been tipped to move to Saudi Arabia.

If that were to materialize, a genuine battle between the north Londoners and Real would likely ensue. That in itself would give Martinez plenty to ponder.
