Juventus 1-0 Genoa: Kenan Yildiz’s Wonderful Solo Effort Stops The Rot For Igor Tudor’s Side

Start

Juventus have ended their two-game losing streak in Serie A as they beat Genoa by a single goal at the Allianz Stadium.

The hosts looked to return to winning ways after losing two games on the bounce and it took them just 25 minutes to break the deadlock.

As the ball bundled in front of him, Kenan Yildiz danced his way through several Genoa challenges inside the area before firing the ball in from a tight angle to send the home fans into a hysteria.

While Juve took the lead into the break, the first half saw the hosts hit by yet another injury, with Gatti forced off minutes after the opener.

Genoa had chances of their own to level the score but struggled to create any clear-cut chances in the first half.

The Old Lady continued to probe the visitors’ goal in the second half, with first-half substitute Pierre Kalulu forcing a save from Nicola Leali from a corner.

Renato Veiga had the chance to double Juve’s lead in the last minute of normal time but the defender could only direct his header across the face of goal.

Leali was then called upon to make a brilliant stop in the dying moments to deny Timothy Weah just moments before the final whistle.

Juventus Stop The Rot As They Edge Past Genoa

It’s a brilliant start to new life under Igor Tudor, condemning Patrick Vieira’s men to defeat.

The win keeps Juve in fifth, putting them a point behind Bologna in the Champions League places.

While defeat for Genoa keeps them 12th in Serie A.
