Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance after their 3-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. This marked Atalanta’s first win in the competition this season, following their opening draw against Arsenal.
Gasperini began by praising his team’s approach to the match: “We played a good game right from the start. I was a bit worried about this match, but our approach was correct. The team always looked confident on the field.”
The Italian coach highlighted the importance of the new signings in the team’s success: “The new arrivals are the ones who can be important for us at this moment. They did well today. We’re gradually trying to integrate everyone. Only five games have passed since the transfer market closed, and everyone has played.”
Gasperini also discussed the process of integrating new players into the squad: “We’re discovering these players as we go along. By playing more games, we’re managing to incorporate them. The new players are able to contribute right away.”
Addressing injury concerns, Gasperini expressed optimism: “We’re confident about the injuries because Hien could recover as early as the next match, and for Kossonou, it should just be cramps. When you play so many games, even a single minor issue can cause you to miss five matches.”
