Gasperini: ‘Hojlund was extraordinary’

Start

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was happy with his teams victory over Bologna, singling out Rasmus Hojlund for praise. The Danish youngster scored the eventual winner as La Dea came back from a goal down to win the match 2-1. Speaking to DAZN (via Gazzetta dello Sport) after the game, Gasperini discussed the 19-year-old’s performance and what he expects for him in the future:

“He has extraordinary margins, the evolution he’s had in recent months… He had to get into matches right away, he’s nineteen. He’s incredibly generous, he has a desire to achieve results, he spurred the fans on against Spezia.

Today he played a sensational match, technically he has margins, in the air he can do well there too given his stature. He can be a top future striker.

It’s not easy all the same, to snatch this boy… Many wanted him, the prices are very high. We need to understand why Sturm Graz took him in Denmark and are still first.

Around the world there are many scouts, we have remained behind, we have been hooked to our little garden which now works a little less from an economic point of view.

We need to have ingenuity abroad where all the clubs are very present.”
