Former Manchester United Boss Erik ten Hag Spotted At Stadio Olimpico Amid Roma Links

Start

Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was spotted in attendance at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday amid reports linking him with the Roma job.

Less than six months on from being sacked by Manchester United, Erik ten Hag was spotted in attendance at the Stadio Olimpico for Roma vs Juventus in Serie A on Sunday evening.

The Dutchman has been subject to reports linking him with a move to the Italian capital in place of Claudio Ranieri for next season, so his presence at the fixture has inevitably added fuel to that fire.

I Giallorossi, who have been transformed since Ranieri’s appointment in November, headed into the tie enjoying a seven-game winning run but were held to a 1-1 stalemate by La Vecchia Signora.

Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport has addressed Ten Hag’s attendance at the game, reporting that he “was in Rome only as a tourist, there was no contact with the club.”

This isn’t to say that the club won’t make contact with the 55-year-old in the future however, as current coach Ranieri is unwilling to remain in the dugout beyond this season and wishes to re-retire from coaching.

At the time of writing, Roma occupy seventh place in the Italian top-flight table, just three points adrift of the Champions League qualification positions, while they are now unbeaten in 15 straight league matches.

Despite their impressive domestic form, the three-time Italian champions have been eliminated from the Europa League, having suffered a disappointing 4-3 aggregate defeat to Athletic Club in the round of 16 last month.
