Cesc Fabregas will reportedly stay at Como for at least another season despite holding talks with RB Leipzig representatives and interest from top Italian sides.
Soccer transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that Cesc Fabregas will remain at Como for at least another season. This is despite the Spaniard holding talks with RB Leipzig, as well as interest from top Serie A sides.
Fabregas is in his first season as the permanent head coach of I Lariani, having joined as a player in 2022 and been appointed interim manager in 2023, and he’s having a fine campaign in the Italian top-flight.
The Lombardy-based outfit are currently in a respectable 13th place in the table, boasting 10 wins, nine draws and 14 defeats from 33 matches in what is their first season back in the top division since 2003.
They have picked up standout wins over Atalanta, Roma, Udinese, Fiorentina and title challengers Napoli over the course of the campaign, while they have also won each of their last three league outings vs. Monza, Torino and Lecce.
Como’s Serie A status for next season now looks to be all but confirmed, as they sit 14 points clear of the relegation zone with just five games remaining, so the news that their boss is expected to stay will come as a great delight to fans and club chiefs.
