When Will Carlo Ancelotti Leave Real Madrid And Take Over The Brazil National Side?

Start

Legendary Italian soccer head coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Ancelotti is the most successful manager in Los Blancos‘ history. The 65-year-old has won 15 trophies across two spells at the Bernabeu.

If Ancelotti and Real do part ways, that means he won’t be in the dugout for the Club World Cup. The FIFA competition gets underway on June 14, 2025.

In 2024-25, Ancelotti’s real are currently four points behind arch rivals Barcelona in the LaLiga title race. Blaugrana also beat Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana and Saturday’s Copa del Rey final.

When Will Carlo Ancelotti Leave Real Madrid?

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Carlo Ancelotti is expected to leave Real Madrid shortly after Los Blancos‘ last LaLiga game against Real Sociedad.

That fixture is pencilled in for May 25, 2025. Ancelotti still has the chance to add one more tropHy to his Madrid CV. Of his haul, the Italian head coach has won two league titles.

The most recent of those came last year. His very first was won in the 2022. Ancelotti can complete a hat-trick if his side can overturn Barcelona’s lead.

In Europe, the 65-year-old has won three Champions Leagues. Ancelotti won’t be able to add to that tally this season after Arsenal thrashed Real 5-1 on aggregate in this year’s quarter-final.

If reports are to be believed, Ancelotti is set to take over the Brazil national side. He will likely be appointed before the FIFA Club World Cup which gets underway in mid-June.

Will Xabi Alonso Be The Next Real Madrid Boss?

With Carlo Ancelotti’s seemingly impending exit, former Real Madrid player Xabi Alonso is widely expected to take the role of head coach next season.

Not only does Alonso have history with Real, his managerial credentials at current club Bayer Leverkusen are truly exceptional.

In 2023-24, the Bundesliga club romped to the German title and also won the DKB-Pokal. A famous treble did elude Alonso’s side when Atalanta won 3-0 in the Europa League final.

Former Spain star Alonso spent five years at the Bernabeu as a player and was a huge fans favourite at the club. He won LaLiga and the Champions League during his time with Real.

Jurgen Klopp is also in contention to replace Ancelotti at Real. The former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund boss is the current Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull GmbH.
