Ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg clash, we have the Bayern vs Inter preview, prediction, latest team news and predicted lineups.
Bayern Vs Inter Preview
Bayern Munich’s quest for UEFA Champions League glory takes centre stage this week as the German giants aim for a seventh success in Europe’s elite club competition.
In the round of 16, Bayern got the better of old foes Bayer Leverkusen to progress to the last eight. A comfortable 3-0 first leg win on home soil put Vincent Kompany’s side in cruise control.
In the return fixture, Die Roten recorded a 2-0 victory at the BayArena to progress 5-0 on aggregate. 2024/25 will be the sixth consecutive season that Bayern have reached the quarter-final stages and 23rd overall. A competition record.
Domestically, Kompany’s team heads into Tuesday’s clash off the back of a 3-1 win over Augsburg. Goals from Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane and an OG from Chrislain Matsima secured three vital points on Friday night.
Munich are very much on for the double this season and they’ll do their chances no harm at all if they can secure a home win in the first leg.

Almost 15 years after the 2009/10 final, Inter get to lock horns with their European rivals once again with a place in the semi-final up for grabs.
Diego Milito netted both goals in the famous 2-0 win at the Bernabeu in Madrid. That victory ensured I Nerazzurri completed a historic treble under Jose Mourinho.
Since then, the current Serie A leaders have only beaten the German giants once in four Champions League meetings. Samuel Eto’o, Wesley Sneijder and Goran Pandev all scored in a 3-2 win at the Allianz Arena in the last 16 second round clash in 2010/11.
Coach Simone Inzaghi would certainly love the same outcome on Tuesday. Especially as that victory ensured Inter’s progression to the quarters.
Heading into the match, Inzaghi’s side know they must be at their best defensively to thwart the Bundesliga leaders. In their last Serie A clash, Inter let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 with struggling Parma.
Bayern Vs Inter Team News
Jamal Musiala is the most notable absentee for Bayern. The German international is set to miss the rest of the season owing to a hamstring injury.
That should see the soon-to-be departing Thomas Muller fill the void. Bayern are also likely to be missing stars such as Alphonso Davies, Manuel Neuer and Dayot Upamecano.
Meanwhile, Inter are sweating on the fitness of Alessandro Bastoni. The Italian international was subbed off against Parma at half-time due to a knee injury.
Mehdi Taremi, Piotr Zielinski and Denzel Dumfries will definitely miss the trip to Germany. Kristjan Asllani will have to stay at home as he serves a one-match suspension.

Bayern Vs Inter Prediction
Tuesday’s clash should be a brilliant watch as Bayern’s attacking prowess meets Inter’s herculean defence. Both sides are missing key players which will likely change Vincent Kompany’s and Simone Inzaghi’s plans.
With that in mind, we are predicting Inter to frustrate their hosts and claim a draw in a close knit game. Therefore, leaving everything to play for at the San Siro in the return leg.
Prediction: Bayern 1-1 Inter
