Milan’s transfer market is moving slowly in its initial phase, with the management evaluating various situations both for incoming and outgoing players. One of these situations involves Malick Thiaw, the German defender who has garnered significant interest from abroad.
According to Calciomercato, Newcastle United, among others, have shown strong interest in Thiaw. Milan recently had direct talks with Newcastle, as manager Eddie Howe is particularly keen on the German defender. The Magpies have inquired about Milan’s willingness to sell the talented center-back, who is attracted to the prospect of playing in the Premier League. His agent, Stipic, had already begun exploring options in England as early as January.
In the coming days, contacts with other English clubs that have expressed interest are expected to take place.
Milan’s preference would be to retain Thiaw, as their defensive department needs reinforcements rather than major departures. However, the club might be compelled to at least consider offers in the range of €35-40 million if they were to materialize.
Thiaw himself is awaiting news about his future and would like to improve his current salary of €800,000 per season. The temptation of the Premier League appears to be growing stronger for the young defender.
