Nesta: “We need 3 points as soon as possible”

Start

Monza manager Alessandro Nesta addressed the media ahead of his team’s important match against Hellas Verona on Monday. With Monza currently sitting in the relegation zone, Nesta emphasized the importance of getting results soon.

On the team’s difficult start to the season, Nesta said: “It depends mostly on us, since we are the protagonists on the field. It’s true, we’ve had many injuries and an important campaign.”

When asked if the team is ready to take off, Nesta replied: “Yes, we started on the first matchday. The games played have led to a waste of energy. We need to get results and obtain 3 points as soon as possible. We’re also recovering many players. Winning brings morale.”

Addressing concerns about the team’s attacking output, Nesta stated: “As I’ve already said, we are the protagonists on the field. Every team has key players and without them it’s difficult to move accordingly. It will be difficult to get points even at full strength.”

On new signing Milan Djuric, Nesta said: “With Djuric we need to cross more. It’s a weapon in our favor that we’re still using too little. With Pessina’s help, who often gets into the box, we need to be more precise.”

Nesta also commented on Daniel Maldini’s recent national team call-up: “He’s certainly content. He deserves it and must use this moment as a launching pad. He needs to stay at that level.”

Regarding the upcoming match against Verona, Nesta said: “It’s a direct clash and we’ve been under pressure since the start of the season. We do this job and we always need to be careful and alert. The pressure should give us that extra push to bring home the games, without fear.”

On player availability, Nesta concluded: “We’ve recovered Gagliardini, Vignato and Turati with only 2-3 group training sessions.”
