UEFA has officially announced that the winner of the Italy-Germany quarter-final will host the Nations League Finals in June. Should the Azzurri emerge victorious, the semi-finals and the final for first place would be held at Juventus Stadium, while the third-place playoff would take place at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) confirmed that if Italy succeed in the two-legged tie against Germany, scheduled for March 20 at Milan’s Giuseppe Meazza Stadium and March 23 at Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park, Turin will be the host city. The semi-finals are set for June 4-5, with the third-place match and final both on June 8. If Germany wins, Munich and Stuttgart would host the Finals instead.
FIGC President Gabriele Gravina expressed his satisfaction with UEFA’s decision, stating it represents another significant vote of confidence in Italian football. He also noted that involving Turin in what could be a historic edition of the tournament, potentially the first to be held in a single city, was influenced by the recent awarding of the Supercoppa to Udine.
The Italian national team has a strong history in Turin, having played 40 matches there with 26 wins, 9 draws, and 5 losses. Their most recent appearance in the city was on October 10, 2021, when they defeated Belgium 2-1 in the Nations League third-place playoff, with goals from Nicolò Barella and Domenico Berardi.
