Napoli’s Search for Kvaratskhelia’s Replacement: Garnacho and Werner in the Spotlight

Start

Napoli are actively seeking a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose departure to Paris Saint-Germain is nearing completion. With the Georgian winger’s exit imminent, Napoli’s sporting director, Mauro Manna, is exploring potential signings to fill the gap.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that one of the primary targets is Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United. Manna was recently spotted in Barcelona meeting with Garnacho’s agents to discuss the feasibility of a transfer and the player’s interest in joining Napoli. However, Manchester United have set a hefty asking price of £70 million, which Napoli considers excessive. The club appears to be weighing its options, as they may either negotiate for a lower fee or abandon the pursuit altogether.

In addition to Garnacho, Napoli are also looking into the possibility of signing Timo Werner from Tottenham Hotspur, where he is currently on loan from RB Leipzig. Initial exploratory contacts have been made regarding Werner, but any potential deal may hinge on Tottenham’s availability after their upcoming match against Arsenal.

If Napoli do not secure a young talent like Garnacho, they are open to acquiring an experienced player on loan. The club is keen to make a strategic move in the transfer market as they prepare for life after Kvaratskhelia.
