Napoli have seen their first bid for defender Maximilian Kilman rejected by Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Partenopei are looking for a long-term replacement for Korean defender Kim Min-Jae, who is on the verge of joining Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The Athletic report that Napoli have identified English defender Kilman as a potential target this summer and made an opening bid of €35 million, which was rejected by Wolves.
According to the report, Wolves will not accept less than €40m for Kilman, who is under contract until 2026 with the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.
The report claims the 26-year-old is ‘also open to the possibility of prolonging his stay’, meaning there is ‘no pressure from Kilman or Wolves to accept Napoli’s advances.’
