Napoli working to sign Alessandro Buongiorno and Rafa Marin

Start

Napoli are working to bolster their back for Antonio Conte, and are being linked with a move for Alessandro Buongiorno and Rafa Marin. The Partenopei suffered defensively last season, struggling to replicate their resolute performances under coach Luciano Spalletti. The added struggles came from the same of defender Kim Min Jae, while new signing Natan struggled to adapt to the league.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the club is pushing for the acquisition of  Buongiorno from Torino, despite previous statements from Torino’s president, Urbano Cairo. Buongiorno has emerged as the top defensive target for Napoli.

The major development in Napoli’s pursuit of the young defender is a positive response from the player himself. This openness from Buongiorno has given Napoli leverage to negotiate a more favorable price with Torino. Buongiorno’s addition is seen as a crucial move to solidify Napoli’s defense for the upcoming season.

While Buongiorno remains the primary focus, Napoli are also keeping other options in play. Negotiations for Mario Hermoso from Atletico Madrid are currently on hold, positioning him as a secondary option.

Simultaneously, Napoli is making strides to acquire Rafa Marin from Real Madrid. Marin spent the last season on loan at Alaves and is viewed as a promising addition to the defensive lineup.

In addition to Buongiorno and Marin, Napoli has shown interest in Alessandro Circati of Parma. However, Parma are reluctant to part with the young defender. Despite this, Napoli remain steadfast in their pursuit of Buongiorno, aiming to secure his transfer as a key reinforcement for coach Conte’s squad.
