Napoli have already begun work to renew the contracts of winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and defender Kim Min Jae. The pair have been fundamental to Napoli’s early season success and have already drawn the attention of other European sides, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Partenopei have begun negotiations with both players to extend their contracts until 2028.
Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is moving early to prevent both players from being plundered by larger European teams, who might offer distracting ‘mind-boggling’ offers to Kvara and Kim.
Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is also keen to remove the €50 million release clause which is exercisable between 1-5 July 2023 which is available to clubs outside Italy.
The patron is also looking to adjust the salary of both players as a reward for their excellent form, while Kvaratskhelia already has as well an option in his contract for another year at the same current figures.
