Napoli Set for Buongiorno’s Medicals this week

Start

Alessandro Buongiorno is scheduled to undergo his medical examination for Napoli between Thursday and Friday this week, marking a significant step in finalizing his transfer from Torino. This development comes on the heels of recent medical tests conducted for other Napoli signings, including Spinazzola and Rafa Marin.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the slight delay in Buongiorno’s medical tests, originally expected earlier in the week, is due to ongoing negotiations between the player and the club regarding contract details. Specifically, they are finalizing the terms of a release clause, which is expected to be set at €70 million and will become active from 2027. Once these details are settled, the 25-year-old Italian defender will sign his contract with Napoli.

Buongiorno’s impending move to Napoli comes after a standout season with Torino, where he played a crucial role in the team’s near-miss of European qualification. In Serie A, he featured in 29 matches, contributing 3 goals and 1 assist, showcasing his value both defensively and in attack.

The transfer, reportedly worth €35 million plus €5 million in bonuses, represents a significant investment for Napoli. It also marks a key addition to Antonio Conte’s squad as they prepare for the upcoming season. Buongiorno is expected to join his new teammates during the latter part of Napoli’s pre-season training camp in Dimaro, scheduled from July 11 to 21.
