Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is under investigation in Rome for false accounting relating to the clubs deal for Victor Osimhen.
Italian news agency ANSA reports that prosecutors at the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office have placed Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis on the register of suspects on charges of false accounting.
This is a due act after the transmission of the acts by the Neapolitan prosecutors. The proceedings are those related to alleged fictitious capital gains around the purchase of striker Victor Osimhen in 2020 from French team Lille.
The Nigerian international moved to Napoli in a deal that was valued at €71.2m, however €20.1m of that figure was made up of four players, primarily youth players, sent in exchange. All four players ultimately left Lille within a year, all having their contracts terminated.
